Monrovia, Liberia- With his critical stance against the ruling establishment, harsh criticism of President Weah and threats from former Generals of Liberia’s defunct warring factions, multiple sources are informing The Liberian Billboard that the Government of Liberia has plans in works to issue a writ of arrest for Hon. Yekeh Kolubah and subsequently charge him with treason as early as today.
According to sources, the decision to arrest Hon. Kolubah was reached on Tuesday evening after top heads of government security agencies and other officials met in Monrovia.
The Montserrado District 10 lawmaker while pledging his support to the opposition collaboration on Sunday, accused President Weah of killing deceased Rep. Adolph Lawrence spiritually.
He has also on several occasions accused the CDC-led government of corruption and bad governance, terming the leadership of President Weah incompetent.
The exact treasonable offenses are not clear, but sources told our news desk that it may be related to the many allegations Rep. Kolubah made against the President.
Meanwhile, Montserrado District #5 lawmaker Thomas Fallah has threatened to lead a campaign for the suspension or expulsion of Hon. Yekeh Kolubah.
Rep. Thomas Fallah who co-sponsored the impeachment bill against former Supreme Court Justice Kabineh Ja’neh said, comments made by Rep. Kolubah has brought the House of Representatives to public disrepute. He said that he will lobby with his colleagues at the Lower House to ensure that the Monstserrado District #10 lawmaker is suspended or expelled for his reckless comments.
Rep. Kolubah responding to Hon. Fallah’s threat during a hastily called press conference challenged his colleague to lead the campaign against him, referring to it as nonsense. He toiled journalists that he cannot be suspended or expelled and termed Hon. Fallah’s statement a mere bluff.
