Monrovia, Liberia- Information reaching The Liberian Billboard says, 500 out of 635 low income homes to be constructed for low income Liberians are to be constructed in President George Weah’s hometown of Sasstown, Grand Kru County.
The revelation was made by Mr. James Kollie, a spokesman for aggrieved Liberian contractors who were overlooked during the bidding process for the homes construction in favor of a Lebanese businessman and friend of the president, according to multiple sources.
While appearing on the famous Costa Show, Mr. Kollie said, BMC, a company owned by a Lebanese national, Hassan Ali bided for 10-lots, but was awarded 25-lots, with only one lot of the total bids going to a Liberian company.
Mr. Kollie said, the construction of the homes are divided into various lots, but informed the listening audience that 500 of those homes are directed to be built in Sasstown Grand Kru County, something that shocked many listeners.
Immediately after his revelation, The Liberian Billboard attempted making contact with officials at LACE, but to no avail.
