CDC: Youth League Accuses Two Ministers Of Going Against Party’s Interest

Monrovia, Liberia- The Revolutionary Youth League of the Coalition for Democratic Change has sharply criticized two officials of government for going against the party’s interests in two upcoming bi-elections in Liberia.

Terming it an ‘an act of political deception,’ the CDC Youth League accused Ministers Cooper Kruah and Mobutu Nyenpan for supporting candidates of other parties instead of the party candidates in the upcoming elections.

Emmanuel T. Swen, Vice Chair of Political Affairs of the CDC said during a press conference on Monday, “The youth league has information available through its intelligence bureau suggesting that Mr. Kruah has his daughter in the race in District 13, Montserrado County on the ticket of the Unity Party and is using his position and affiliation with government to undermine the mighty Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) candidate, John J. Weah,”

“Furthermore, our attention has been drawn to Mr. Nyepan, who is supporting an opposition candidate Romeo Quiah against the party’s candidate in Sinoe County.”

Mr. Swen said, the action on the part of the two Ministers contravenes the agenda of the party and termed their actions as ‘disingenuous’.  He said, the party youth league wants the two Ministers to discontinue their attitude against the party.

“We want to remind these two individuals that the positions they occupied as ministers came on the basis of sweat and blood shared by supporters of CDC. These people cannot be victims for ensuring the popular people’s victory,” Swen added.

Swen informed the gathering that the Youth League has formally communicated to CDC Chairman, Mulbah Morlu on its assertion of two government officials fighting the party’s interest.
