Breaking News: Sam Mannah, Presidential Press Secretary, Reassigned

Monrovia, Liberia: Presidential Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Mannah has been reassigned by President George Weah, relieving him off his post as Presidential Press Secretary.

An Executive Mansion release says, President Weah has appointed Presidential Mr. Sam Mannah as Deputy Managing Director for Administration at the National Insurance Corporation Of Liberia (NICOL).

Although no explanation was given for Mr. Mannah’s reassignment, but information that has been filtering in the past few months says, there have been a strained relationship between the Presidential and his Press Secretary. For months, Mr. Mannah was not travelling with the President at official functions, and news of his suspension was moving around government and public circles; although the government refused to give any official statement about his absence.

In recent times, Mr. Mannah was seen with the President during his road inspection and at other occasions, giving the public the sense that both men have mended whatever differences they had.

Meanwhile, the President commends Hon. Mannah for his service as Press Secretary since the inception of the administration and wish him well in his new portfolio.
