President Weah: “I Will Not Let You Down”


Monrovia, Liberia- The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has assured Liberians, that he will get to the bottom of the “missing money” saga currently affecting the country.

In a two and a half minutes recorded speech, President Weah said, his government is making every effort to make sure controversies surrounding the money are resolved.

“I ask all citizens to be patient and those involved in the investigation to be cooperative. I am confident that in the end, we will come to a logical conclusion into circumstances surrounding this money and if anyone is caught in any financial malfeasance, they will be held accountable to the full extent of the law”, President Weah said.

The President said, the government is not going to rest until the facts are established and all questions are answered. He called on citizens to be patient and urged all persons of interest, to cooperate with investigators fully.

“I can assure you fellow Liberians, proper accountability of the money in question is vital to my government’s ability to improve your lives”, the President added.

The President urged Liberians to remain calm as the investigation go on, and informed Liberians that his government is working along with international partners to have the situation resolved.

“I will not let you down”, the President said.

Many Liberians who spoke to The Liberian Billboard expressed satisfaction with the President’s speech and see it as a positive step, but urged him to do more and make sure all those found culpable of wrongdoings are prosecuted.
