Monrovia- The President of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. George M. Weah has finally declared his assets after heeding to call for his assets declaration from the public and opposition.
News of the President’s assets declaration begun to filter late Thursday evening, but a press release from the General Auditing Commission suggests that the documents was released late Wednesday evening. Details of the document have not been released, however, the General Auditing Commission is expected to release a summary soon; by law details of the documents can’t be release and only a summary will be made available to the public.
Despite the President’s assets declaration, oppositions are criticizing the move, terming the action on the part of the President as overdue. They said the President should have declared his assets long time ago and it is political show to quell the noise about the issue. on the other hand, CDCcians and supporters of the President are hailing his action as good mode of leadership terming President Weah as a leader who listens to the voice of his people; even the opposition.
